It was a time when KANVA MahA Rishi was doing penance in the forest area known as Kurunegere ( it is hardly 4 Kms from Doddamallur) While doing penance he observed Lord Narasimha was there in a hillock . Lord Narasimha's Bimbam was in Sthambam. He wanted this matter to be known to the entire world .Then  a settlement of Nomads known as KADU GOLLAS  came to dwell in the same forest. They used to graze their cattle in the hillock and forest etc. It was observed that one particular used to go to the hillock near a particular bush and used to automatically pour the milk and come back. Then our Kanva MahA Rishi thought that it was the opportune moment to let the whole world know mahima of our Lord. Then he disguised as Kadu Golla and went and started a topic about the cow's strange behavior and he aroused their curiosity, Then the Kadu Golla's followed the cow observed what it was doing , then Kanva Rishi suggested that let them clear the bush and see what is there , as per his suggestion they cleared the bushes and behold our Lord Yoga Narasimha reveled himself in a Sthambam and Karnataka People consider this place as equivalent to Ahobillam.

Then once Narasimha Swamy became visible our Kanva MahA Rishi disappeared after making proper arrangement for necessary Pooja etc. Then Those Kadu Golla's Started doing business making our Swami as Business partner and they prospered like anything. Even today 20 Family's the descendent of the ancient Kadu Golla's live in the village and even now they do business invoking the name of our Lord and also every year they celebrate the Jathra ( Village and they will donate the Swami's share in business profit that day.

The temple is now becoming famous because of Sriman A M Rajagopalan Famous Astrologer , Editor of famous Tamil Astrology Magazine "Kumudham Jothidam" wrote about this temple also and we on our part decided to put the matter in web site for the whole world to known about this beautiful place situated in serine atmosphere in a hillock and the hillock is motorable. From here we proceed to Ramanujapuram
